7 Year Bitch - Viva Zapata

Don't care about the title : Viva Zapata has nothing to do with the mexican revolution. This is an homage to their friend Mia Zapata, singer of The Gits, who was raped and murdered while coming back home one night, and also to their guitarist Stefanie Sargent, who died by overdose at the same time. This was their second album, issued in 1994.

7 Year Bitch - Gato Negro

Their third and last album (1996), the most accessible surely. They disbanded soon after the release.

Lubricated Goat - The Great Old Ones

A Compilation issued some years ago. Best sound of all the Lubricated Goat I've posted, but not my favourite.

Lubricated Goat - Unskinned Goat

Could'nt find anything about this record, except that it is a compilation of old stuff, demos, etc. I even was not able to find the cover (this above is a single). But you really need this one, I think it's better than the two other records here (and all I ever got from this band).

Lubricated Goat - Schadenfreude

Lubricated Goat was a band born in the eighties in Australia. They played a mix of punk, with an exciting touch of death-rock, you also can call their music proto-grunge, well it makes me think to bands like God Bullies, it's dark, angry and cynical with a lot of humour, I really like that.

Love Battery - Dayglo

A typical "Sub Pop" band, as people called the new scene before someone called it grunge. SO they were not grunge, they played pop melodies over noise guitars, a really good band long forgotten. This is their first album.

Milk - Tantrum

One of the records I used to listen to every day around 1990. Where do they came from, I don't know. This was typical "grunge" (I hate this word) with something strange in it. They werre signed to Danceteria, a french label, which is unusual while every band of this kind where on Sub Pop & co at the time... this is probably why they disappeared from all memories.
Anyone who loves this music should listen to this Tantrum.

Afghan Whigs - Gentlemen

A famous U.S. band from the grunge era... a kind of dark spleening pop-noise, sometimes close to new-wave.
